For Wolfgang Candy, the York Fair is a family tradition

Dennis McGlaughlin, father of Wolfgang CEO Benjamin McGlaughlin, helps customers at the 2013 York Fair, which started Friday.

The York Fair is a family tradition for Wolfgang Candy.

And, to the best of our knowledge, the company’s presence — which continues this week — started there in 1927 with the children of Delphi Eli and Mima Mae Wolfgang.

Do the math. That’s 86 years of pleasing fair-goers with our selection of small batch, handcrafted confections.

This year, it was time for a change.

Treats from Wolfgang Candy has been a family fair tradition for more than seven decades.

We revamped our booth, located under the Grandstand, with new signage to reflect our new logo. We’re selling new products, including our Penn State Pretzel Fudgies and Farmer’s Fair line.

So, whether you’re heading in to watch a concert this week or just passing through, be sure to stop by, say hi, and fill a bag with your favorite gummy treats, priced at $6 per pound, or premium chocolates, priced at $10 per pound.

In 1939, Wolfgang Candy paid just $50 for a permit to sell chocolates from the York Fair’s main building.
