Latimer St. Bakery: Chocolate Topped Cookies Pay Tribute to Wolfgang Candy’s Roots

Latimer St. Bakery Chocolate Topped Cookies with Caramel Filling

Wolfgang Candy, one of America’s oldest family-owned chocolate companies, is launching a brand of premium chocolate topped cookies with premium truffle filling.

Latimer St. Bakery™ comes in four varieties: Milk Chocolate-Topped, Milk Chocolate Caramel Truffle, Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Truffle, and Dark Chocolate Cherry-Vanilla Cream.

Decadent filling and molten chocolate — adhered to a flaky vanilla cookie baked with the finest ingredients — creates a flavorful impact only possible through this rich, European-inspired combination.

The brand name, Latimer St. Bakery™, is a tribute to Wolfgang Candy’s roots.

The company, a fourth generation family business, was founded by Delphi Eli and Mima Mae Wolfgang, and their eldest son Paul, in 1921. The confectionery operation started in the cellar of the family home on Latimer Street in North York, Pa.

Latimer Street is also home to the company’s current production plant.

Latimer Street Bakery™ will debut in Chicago May 20-22 at the National Confectioners’ Association’s 2014 Sweets and Snacks Expo, the largest confectionery and snack trade show in North America. Wolfgang Candy will be located in Booth Booth #1767.

“We saw the opportunity to take a decadent piece of chocolate and marry it with a cookie. It’s not something you see often,” said Mark Bruno, former Vice President, National Sales at Wolfgang Candy. “The way the chocolate blends with crunchy bottom is perfect for anyone craving an indulgent snack.”

“Wolfgang has one of the few production lines in the U.S. designed to place a chocolate truffle piece perfectly on top of a cookie at high speeds,” said Ben McGlaughlin, CEO at Wolfgang Candy. “We are utilizing this capability to launch Latimer St.”
