How fast can a grown adult eat a chocolate bunny?
Central Pennsylvania is about to find out.
Wolfgang Candy is holding its first ever eating contest at noon Saturday, March 29 at its Das Sweeten Haus store at 50 E. 4th Ave. in York, Pa.
The goal is simple: Finish the hollow bunny first (or, at least, eat as much of it as possible before time is up).
The public is encouraged to watch these feats of food consumption unfold.
Spectators can even buy their own bunny at a special discount.
During the event, all hollow chocolate items will be 20 percent off. The event will also feature giveaways of various candy items to celebrate the Easter season.
And, for those fancying something other than chocolate, Scoops Ice Cream and Grille will be on premises serving up ice cream, sandwiches and more.
Crafted from Wolfgang Candy’s premium chocolate, the bunnies, available for purchase in our online store, come in varying shapes and sizes.
They are manufactured using a mold-spinning machine, which turns and rotates until chocolate has completely covered the outside of the mold.
Contestants for the Chocolate Bunny Challenge were chosen through a contest on Wolfgang Candy’s Facebook page.
Meet The Contestants
David Miller of York Haven has a zest for life and chocolate. “I have 5 kids and they would get a kick out of seeing their dad eat a chocolate bunny as fast as I can. Our family loves Wolfgang’s candy,” he said.
Fiona Lucia of York is a vegetarian, but bunnies made of chocolate don’t count! “Even as a kid I wanted to eat all of the chocolate in my Easter basket in one sitting,” she said.
Jonathan Ober of Lancaster has a fat lip, because his two daughters always eat the Easter candy. “Please, help a dad out,” he said. “And the way I like to eat them is by biting off the ears so they can’t hear me nibble away at their body.”
