Wolfgang Candy Company, one of America’s oldest family-owned chocolate companies, announces that Rebecca Guldin of Jonestown, Pa., will serve as the “spokesFAN” for its Penn State Pretzel Fudgies.

Guldin, 22, is a senior at Penn State University and the seventh member of her family to play trumpet in the Penn State Blue Band. She also fills the role of vice president for the more than 300-member marching band, which plays at each football game at Beaver Stadium.

Guldin won the on-line fan contest by posting a portrait of her family’s Blue Band contingent standing on the field at Beaver Stadium. Her posting garnered more than half of the total votes on Wolfgang’s Facebook page. Guldin entered the contest as she holds fond memories of selling Wolfgang Candy for fundraising as a student at Jonestown Elementary School in Lebanon County.

“We would always buy the Wolfgang’s Cracker Crowns,” said Guldin. On winning the contest, Guldin stated, “I think I’m a good fit for Wolfgang and Penn State has always had a feeling of being home to me.”

On Saturday, October 12, before Penn State’s homecoming victory against Michigan, Guldin was presented with a $1,000 check. She will also receive six cases of Penn State Pretzel Fudgies.

The perfect addition to any tailgate, Penn State Pretzel Fudgies are officially licensed by Penn State and the NCAA. Penn State Pretzel Fudgies feature premium baked pretzels, perfectly salted and coated in Wolfgang’s white fudge family recipe and drizzled in a custom Penn State blue icing coating.

“As a 92-year-old company in Central Pennsylvania, many of our employees and loyal consumers over the years have also been Penn State fans,” said McGlaughlin. “We wanted to find someone who embodied that pride and tradition to represent our product.”
