Celebrate with Mima Mae’s Party Cake; perfect for any occasion!
1 1/4 Cups Sugar
1 Cup Softened Butter or Margarine
2 Eggs
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
2 3/4 Cups Flour
1/2 Cup Wolfgang Cocoa (or baking cocoa)
2 Teaspoons Baking Soda
1 Teaspoon Salt
2 Cups Buttermilk or Sour Milk
Cream sugar and butter or margarine in large bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; add alternately with buttermilk or sour milk to creamed mixture. Bake at 350 deg for 55 to 60 minutes for (1) 13″x9″x2″ baking pan. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pan. Cool completely, frost as desired. Yield: 10 to 12 yummy servings!
