Made In America Proud

Made In America Days (Nov 1-3, 2007) - http://www.factorytours.org

The 9th Annual Made in America Tours celebrated American ingenuity and innovation on November 1-3, 2007, with over 20 working factory tours in York, Pennsylvania, known as the Factory Tour Capital of the World! Thousands of visitors enjoyed an insiders' view of factories in action, showing just how Pennsylvania manufacturers produce great American favorites like Harley-Davidson Motorcycles, Wilton Armetale, Utz's Potato Chips and, of course, the rich, creamy chocolates of Wolfgang Candy.

This year, a Made in America Passport was provided to factory tourists who then had it stamped at their factory tour destinations. Stamps from three tour locations enabled participants to enter a drawing for prizes in mid-November.

Guests of every age sampled Wolfgang Candys free original 1921 factory tour along the way, enjoying the Sweetest Tour This Side of Heaven where they could see, smell and taste their favorite candy cooking, mixing and coating. The young and young at heart love to see chocolate enrobing peanut butter, almond butter crunch, mint creams and many, many more delicious confections.

Abby Crooks, Destination Marketing Manager of the York County Visitor's Bureau was delighted that York County could welcome visitors to the hospitality and ingenuity of local craftsmen and manufacturers, saying, "The York County Made In America Event provides a wonderful opportunity for visitors to go behind the scenes for a first hand look at the making of some of America's favorite products. We were thrilled to welcome visitors to York County to experience the many great things our area has to offer. We would like to extend a special thanks to all of our participating tours, attractions and wineries, including Wolfgang Candy Company and all of their employees, who are truly the key to the success of this exciting event."
