Our Visitor Center and Museum features illustrations of old-time American candy craftsmen. You'll see many special display cases filled with wooden sugar molds, glass candy jars, and many other priceless antiques. You'll also see a video of the Wolfgang candy-making process ... along with a complete history of the Wolfgang family who made their candy making dream come true in the founding of "Das Sweeten Haus". Be sure and stop by our Candy Store during your visit as well as our turn of the century ice cream soda fountain!

ALLERGY NOTE: Peanuts, tree nuts and other allergen producing products are processed in our factory! We sometimes share equipment used in making candy with allergens and candy without. Also, our factory tour areas share open air with our kitchen and production areas.
Tours leave promptly on the hour. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled tour time. If you are more then 5 minutes late, it is likely we will not be able to give your tour.
For groups of 12 or more, please e-mail in advance for tour reservations. Group Tour Hours: M-Th 9:00am, 11:00am and 1:00pm
Each child 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult and the adult is responsible to make sure each child complies with all rules and regulations.
The factory tour will require walking 1/4 mile including 2 flights of stairs.
There are to be no pictures allowed in the production area. If you have a camera it must remain stored away during the entire tour.
CLOTHING and SHOES
- Clean outer garments are required.
- A sleeved shirt is required - this can be short, long or cap sleeve (covers shoulders) - anyone wearing tank top and sleeveless shirts are not permitted on tour.
- Enclosed toed shoes are required (no heelies) - for those wearing open toed shoes and unable to change blue covers will be provided.
- If anyone has fingernail polish or false fingernails gloves must be worn.
HAIR
- Hairnets must be worn and cover all hair from your head.
- Beard nets must be worn for any hair below the mouth including beards, long mustaches, goatees and long sideburns.
PERSONAL ITEMS
- All jewelry must be taken off including earrings and any other facial piercings with jewelry, necklaces, watches, bracelets, etc. - exceptions will be plain wedding bands and medical alert jewelry. If someone has rings that are too tight to be taken off then gloves will be provided.
- There is to be no smoking in any of the buildings.
- Nothing is to be carried above the waist. Nothing is allowed in shirt pockets. Neck lanyards may not be worn. If pocket books are taken they must be carried below the waist and not on the shoulder and they must be fastened closed.
The loss of any personal items must be reported to the tour director immediately.
Wolfgang Candy is not responsible for any loss of personal items.
FOOD ITEMS
- There is to be no eating, drinking or gum chewing in the production or warehouse areas.
CONDUCT
- You are required to stay with your tour group at all times and with-in seeing and hearing distance of your tour guide.
- There is to be absolutely no touching of any machinery, materials or finished product.
- All cell phones must be silenced and put away during the tour.
- Anyone showing signs of visible illness will not be allowed to take the tour.
No exceptions to these rules will be allowed. Failure to follow rules and regulations will result in removal from tour.

Are reservations required?
YES, reservations are required for ALL tours. Make reservations.
Will we get to make candy?
No, due to FDA regulations and guidelines we cannot allow our guest to participate in making candy.
Why are there kids on the website making candy?
These children were our Spring and Fall fundraising Grand Prize winners.
How long is the tour?
Our tours generally last 45 minutes to an hour depending on questions asked by tour members.
Can pictures be taken?
Cameras are permitted in our museum and Das Sweeten Haus ONLY. Photos are NOT permitted in the manufacturing facilities.
Are you handicapped accessible?
Our museum and Das Sweeten Haus candy shoppe are the only handicapped accessible buildings.
Are there age restrictions?
There are No age restrictions. However, every child 6 and under MUST be accompanied by an Adult. The adult is responsible to make sure the child complies with all rules and regulations. Please keep in mind this is an operating factory with loud machinery and moving parts. Children also must be able to keep hair nets on during the tour.
Are strollers permitted?
Strollers are ONLY permitted in our museum and Das Sweeten Haus not on the walking tour.
Do you have a gift Shop?
Yes, Das Sweeten Haus Center is open Monday thru Friday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Saturday 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Sunday closed. Please Check the Website tour page for special holiday hours.
Do you have a place where my tour group can eat lunch?
Unfortunately we cannot accommodate a large group. However, there is an near by park with a pavilion to enjoy your picnic lunch.
