Cheryl Ewing of Granite Fund Raising has been helping organizations and schools raise funds for 24 years. A family-run business in Manchester, New Hampshire, Granite Fund Raising delivers dollars to schools through successful product sales campaigns of magazines, candles, custom clothing, gift items and food for every palate.
Not long ago, Cheryl, and founder/father, Chuck Riley, managed a significant volume of merchandise stocked in their warehouse, packing custom combinations of fundraising products. Warehousing demanded volume, time and labor, all challenges to the tight margins that fundraising sales afforded. The family made the decision to eliminate warehouse operations, and grow the business by working with fundraising companies who provided direct shipping. That’s why, seven years ago, Cheryl was delighted to begin working with Wolfgang Candy, who offered just the delivery solution her clients needed, individually prepacked products.

Having an educator husband, Bill, Cheryl knows firsthand the desperate need for funding that so many schools face. And, she knows exactly what enables schools to meet those needs, promoting carefully selected products packaged with her experience in what sells and what profits.

“Food products are strong sellers, especially when they offer value, quality and a moderate price,” Cheryl explained. She continued, “Wolfgang Candy offers all three, neatly, accurately and promptly delivered.”

Even in this tight economic climate, we are seeing great success from selling Wolfgang Candy. This past autumn, one of my clients, Gossler Park Elementary, increased their previous sale from $6,000 to $10,000. We had one child sell over 50 items because he was so motivated to support his school, I have also seen schools in stressed socio-economic communities where one would expect lower sales do raise phenomenal dollars toward their educational programs such as Bakersville Elementary. Wolfgang Chocolates and their Spring Bulb program really sell well, so much so that they will be my main fundraising product line this spring.”

Cheryl does some extra work that other fundraising promoters may skip. She checks every order, and contacts fundraisers to encourage a few more orders when they are very close to milestone goals. When one such order was only $300 short of a $10,000 goal, she contacted the school and the principal purchased the extra amount and used them for staff gifts. Everyone loved the sweet surprise. Checking orders also helps ensure that her clients get what they think they have selected. Having received countless order forms herself, Cheryl knows how difficult fulfilling sloppy or confusing orders can be. The sales data staff at Wolfgang especially appreciates Cheryl’s extra care that most people would never know she gives.

Steve Schmid, Managing Partner, Fundraising, met with Cheryl at the National AFRDS Convention (Association of Fund-Raising Distributors and Suppliers) show where she shared her experiences with selling Wolfgang Candy. He said, “Cheryl knows the fundraising industry and she knows our products inside and out. To have her vote of confidence and hear her anecdotal successes means that the work we do to create only high quality, American-made confections and a proven, professional, easy-to-use fundraising program is really making an impact for schools in New England and beyond.”

Great job, Cheryl! The team at Wolfgang Candy is honored to have you sell our delicious products.
