More than winning BINGO...
A
letter from a Chocolate Bingo player...
"Just thought I'd share what a great Thanksgiving week I shared with my sister who visited from Wisconsin. Carol and I had a great week. We went to York to play BINGO at a Women of Today Wolfgang Candy fund raiser. My sister won twice. One win gave her a Wolfgang gift certificate for $100, and the second, different kinds of candy. This was absolutely the best medicine for Carol. The past year hasn't been too kind to her. After being diagnosed with cancer and undergoing chemo and radiation, she couldn't work and had to move in with a friend and her husband, and then her employer terminated her medical insurance coverage. Carol has moved into a subsidized housing apartment and is on the road to recovery.
This never gets her down and like the EverReady Bunny, she keeps going and going.
So, you can imagine, what seems like a simple BINGO game to most people, could give so much to one person. With those two wins, Carol was able to turn them into Christmas gifts for her children, grandchildren and friends. The many people who managed to give Carol financial and moral support this past year. She finally felt she could get them something for the holidays when money just wasn't there. It's the little things around the holidays that we door say, not knowing what a positive impact an individual or an organization can have in someone else's life."
